Hakai Labs DEFCON 2 Satellite CV Controlled Signal Router

Reinforcements for your signal path. DEFCON 2 Satellite is a compact, CV-controlled dual-path analog signal router. Patch a CV, gate, or clock into the Switch Override to choose between Path A and Path B, or connect it to a DEFCON 2 and it follows the big red switch. Use it on its own or chain as many as you want. High-speed CMOS switching keeps transitions silent and instantaneous, with zero audible artifacts.

It has the same signal flow as the DEFCON 2, in 4 HP. Use it to sequence between two sources, switch effect chains from an LFO or sequencer, or expand a DEFCON 2 with more paths that all follow the same switch.

Features

• Standalone or expander: No DEFCON 2 required. The Switch Override input controls the CMOS switch directly from a CV, with a switching threshold of 2.5V.
• Override takes priority: Plugging into the Switch Override breaks the rear connection to the DEFCON 2, so the Satellite follows your CV instead.
• Rear Expansion In and Out: Expansion In accepts the switch state from a DEFCON 2 or another Satellite over a standard patch cable. Expansion Out is a buffered copy of this module's switch state (or the override, if patched). The signal is buffered at every stop, so a daisy chain doesn't degrade, and there is virtually no limit on chain length.
• Full chain on each path: Insert In, buffered Send Out, Return In, and Out, plus Main Input and Main Out.
• Both paths stay live: An inactive path still passes anything patched into its Insert or Return through to its Send and Out jacks.
• LED indicators: Path Enabled LEDs and bi-color red/green signal LEDs at Main Input, each Path Out, and Main Out. The signal LEDs are CVD LEDs, chosen to be easier to read for people with red-green color vision deficiency.
• Raw copper panel: Unfinished copper that tarnishes and patinas naturally with handling and environment. Artwork by Robots Are Red.
